(THEMATIC ANALYSIS OF ARTICLES IN THE AL-MIMBAR JOURNAL FOR THE YEAR 2024)
Keywords:
AL-MIMBAR, mosque, zakat, waqf, thematic analysis, Islamic institutionsAbstract
In dealing with the information globalization era and the rising complexity of challenges faced by contemporary Islamic constitutions, peer-reviewed journals such as AL-MIMBAR play a significant role as platforms for knowledge dissemination and strategic discourse related to mosques, zakat, and waqf. However, a comprehensive understanding of the journal’s direction and impact requires a systematic analysis of its content, that highlights thematic patterns, research focus areas, and unexplored research gaps. This article aims to identify the dominant themes featured in two issues of the AL-MIMBAR journal (Vol. 4, No. 1, June 2024, and Vol. 4, No. 2, December 2024). By applying a qualitative research design through a thematic content analysis approach, the study examines the titles and abstracts of the published articles to uncover patterns and areas of scholarly focus. A total of 21 articles were analyzed and five major themes were identified: (1) Mosque and Community Management, (2) Zakat and Asnaf, (3) Contemporary Waqf, (4) Islamic Institutional Policy and Governance, and (5) Innovation and Technology. The findings provide a comprehensive overview of the trends in academic writing in this area and propose potential directions for future research.
